Snodland Bike Club

Snodland Bike Club  in Kent, based at Snodland Community Centre, was set up to engage local riders who were enjoying the thrill of the wheelie but not always in a safe way.

The Pump Track project at Snodland came about through our engaging with “wheelie riders”, at the request of local police and the council. We met and talked with the riders, we formed Snodland Bike Club and from this the instances of anti-social riding reduced dramatically and the idea for a pump track was born – a safe place for riders to practise their skills.

The track was funded with British Cycling’s Places to Ride as well as money from Snodland Town Council, Clarion Housing and Tarmac.

It was built by Clark & Kent, and was officially opened by Tracey Crouch, the local MP, and Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council Mayor, Sue Bell, in October 2022.

Every step of the way the track has been rooted in the local community and the local community support and love their pump track.

Snodland Bike Club runs a rider meetup every Tuesday between 4pm and 6pm. It is an opportunity for young people to meet other like-minded riders, build new friendships, increase their confidence and skill, and have bags of fun on their bikes.

We help develop skills, have fun races and there is a fleet of BMX bikes and helmets to lend. We also help repair their bikes when they break them!

We also run monthly mountain bike rideouts on the local trails, and trips during school holidays to experience other types of cycling (like Herne Hill Velodrome, Bedgebury Forest Trail Centre, etc).
