What’s Happening Kent
Keep up to date with what we’re doing in Kent:
Saturday 8th March, it`s ride time!
The planned ride is around 14.7 miles in the beautiful Kentish countryside. Meet at Snodland Community Centre, 10am.
Leaders are Andy W, Andy S, Pete and Dave.
The ride is social and chatty as ever and the pace is very civilised. Optional coffee and cakes at the finish.
No lycra or sporty bikes necessary.
New riders always welcome.

It`s our FIRST Community #Bikefix of the year in Kent:
Saturday 8th March 2025
10.30pm till 1.30pm
At Cuxton Co-op, 93 Bush Rd, Cuxton, Rochester ME2 1EY
Look out for our #BigBikeRevival gazebo
If you`re bike is in need of some love, then our #Bikefix is a “triage” service: fixing minor issues and checking to make sure bikes are safe and road worthy. The service is performed by trained and skilled bike mechanics. The majority of bike issues can be fixed on the spot, meaning you can attend these events in the knowledge you’ll probably be able to ride away on a bike that feels as good as new!
It`s all funded by @WeAreCyclingUK #BigBikeRevival so there is no cost, apart from maybe a small charge for parts if they are required.

Session is free for girls, but we ask for a voluntary £3 donation for over 18s.
Fun, fitness, improve your bike skills and meet and make friends at the same time!

@SnodlandRidersCCC - adults group social bike ride. Around 1.5 hours at chatty pace, about 12 to 15 miles with an option to cut it shorter for those wishing to do so. Lead by qualified ride leaders.
Always friendly and welcoming. Meet 10am at Snodland Community Centre. No lycra necessary. New riders always welcome. We retire to a cafe afterwards for coffee and more chatting, but this is optional of course.

#CommunityCycleworks is excited to be partnering in Cardiff with Green Squirrel @bemoresquirrel at the Railway Gardens in Splott, to offer some taster sessions of our Drop in #Bikefix workshops.
These sessions are designed to help young people, and adults, who might otherwise struggle with the costs to repair their bikes at bike shops. We aim to empower, teach and support people to be able to fix for themselves.`
Our first session is this Saturday, 8th March, 10:30 till 12:30. Just rock up and fix!
Nelson will be on hand to offer advice, and guidance to carry out basic repairs.
We have more dates booked for the taster sessions so keep a look out for these. We are keen to hear from people who are able to volunteer their mechanical skills to help reach and teach more people.
We are on a mission to empower more people, especially those that are typically under-represented within the cycling community, to have access to a bike, the skills to repair, and the confidence and opportunities to ride more.
Looking forward to seeing this gain some momentum...

We are taking part in Repair Week next Monday! @londonrecyclesuk is hosting Repair Week next week, where you can learn to fix things for free - from textiles to electronics, and of course, bikes.
Our London workshop will be open on Monday 3rd March 5-8pm for you to pop by with your bicycle and learn to fix it! 🔧
It is free to come along and learn, and some parts will be covered in the cost however if your bike requires extensive work, you will be given the estimation of costs. We offer a discounted rate (~25% off) for U18s, students, those on benefits, and the elderly.

We are looking for qualified Ride Leaders for Snodland Riders Community Cycle Club, to compliment our existing group and help share the load.
Just 1 or 2 Saturday mornings a month. Our @wearecyclingUK Community Cycle Club is for social, adult group rides. Generally up to around 15 miles. Start at 10 at Snodland Community Centre, finish by midday. Routes are always supplied.

We are running Tool Time Tuesday on the second and fourth Tuesdays each month. From 17:30 to 19:30, there are 4x 30 min slots at £12.50 each, and two workstands available to book.
This is ideal for those who aren’t in our catchment area or want dedicated time with a mechanic, without the crowds of Bikefix.

Today we took a Cheer Squad to @malling.parkrun at Leybourne Lakes to clap and support all the brilliant runners - but also to get the message out about our little bike club, the Snodland Riders Community Cycle Club.
