Cardiff Bikefix Project
Welcome to our newest Bikefix location at the Railway Gardens in Splott, Cardiff – a wonderful community space that brings people together and connects with local residents across the city.
About the Project
Since March 2025, we’ve been running Bikefix on selected Saturdays each month. These sessions give local people the chance to access affordable bike repairs while learning new skills at the same time.
Thanks to two years of funding from The National Lottery starting January 2026, we’re excited to grow Bikefix into a regular drop-in service. Sessions will be led by our Project Lead Mechanic Nelson, supported by a team of dedicated volunteers.
When?
Bikefix will run a mix of regular Saturday sessions at Railway Gardens, plus outreach events in other parts of Cardiff to reach new people.
Keep an eye on our Community Cycleworks Cardiff socials for updates.

Get Involved
Volunteering with Bikefix is a great way to:
- Help people repair their bikes
- Support events and outreach
- Contribute to social media or project monitoring
Even a few hours a month can make a big difference. Volunteering helps people feel more connected, less lonely, and opens doors to new opportunities.
What is Bikefix?
Bikefix is our local offer for Cardiff residents, workers, and students. We focus on hands-on learning – putting the tools in your hands, teaching skills, and fixing bikes together.
Do I Have to Pay?
- Covered by grants: The mechanic’s time and small parts.
- Donations welcome: If you can afford to contribute, your support helps Bikefix grow and reach more people. It’s all about paying it forward.
Nelson’s Words
“Hearing people tell me they felt lost without being able to ride their bike was enough for me to know how important Bikefix is as a permanent fixture. And without realising it, it also created a space where people can just hang out with others in the community while getting their bike fixed – which is really what this is all about.”
Dates
Official launch begins January 2026.
